Mask Movement
MASQUE offers movement workshops presented by both Larry Hunt and Adelka Polak.  Option: both.

Intended for Theatre or movement students, professionals (actually anyone) interested in exploring the non-verbal elements of masks. Designed to study a masks intent including attitudes, emotions, speed, relationships, character traits.
Larry Hunt’s movement workshop will encourage exploration of body language in relationship to the expressions on the full silent masks and relationships to other masks.
You will undoubtedly discover a freedom of expression through the mask which will aid in future performance capabilities even without a mask. We will work with physical and musical elements and create short vignettes as a result of the relationships found within and between the masks.

Movement & the Mask with Adelka Polak

This workshop introduces various dance and bodywork techniques used to approach the creation of a character through the physical presence. These techniques can increase individual strength, stamina and stage presence. Spoken words, emotions, and body language become more powerful with the consideration of posture, breath, and gesture. This workshop aides in preparation for the transformations that occur within the mask. These techniques have applied to actors performing Shakespeare, dancers, singers, puppeteers, and performers using stylized movement.
